True. But UBI Isn’t Politically Viable Till It’s A Crisis

There’s no question you’re correct the tech displacement of jobs and globalization a phony political whipping boy for demagogues. You’re also correct that UBI will be an imperative. Problem is the ideological and partisan gap between careers and reality. For example, should we still be having conflicts about abortion or climate change?

So, UBI will languish for a painfully extended period until there’s absolutely no alternative. By then, of course, the situation on the ground will be dire.
