Sorry, Lobbying & Polls Aren’t System Upgrades

Influence peddling — money and lobbying — goes back millennia. As someone who was once marketing director of a survey and market research firm, independent polls are all over the map in terms of quality and subtle agenda goals within design (see One Story the Media Ignores Completely).

As to fear about what I’ve proposed as being financially compromised, why is that fear justified? Is that the case with, say Consumer Reports or Wikipedia?
